1. His mother, Barbara Johnson, was a journalist and his father, Franklin Reeve, was a writer and professor. They got divorced when Christopher was only 4 years old.
2. He appeared in 17 feature films, 12 TV-movies, and about 150 plays throughout his life.
3. When Reeve was first introduced to try out for Superman he thought the idea was downright silly and very nontheatrical, but when he read the script, he began to loved it.
4. His very first role was in a Princeton theater company's production of Gilbert and Sullivan's The Yeoman of the Guard, and after that experience, Reeve was hooked.
5. In May 1995 Reeve became paralyzed from the neck downwards and wheel-chair bound following a horse-riding accident. He also required a respirator to assist his breathing for the rest of his life.
